There is no minimum or maximum age for taking your child to his or her first appointment. We often see children as young as a year old, and we recommend you bring your child after his or her first tooth has erupted. We can teach you a little bit about caring for your child’s teeth, examine their mouth, and as they get older, teach them about the dentist’s office and how they can care for their own dental health. We believe that the sooner you bring your child to the dentist, the less likely he or she will feel intimidated in the dentist’s office. This will encourage your child to seek dental care for the rest of their life and improve their long-term dental health.
