Restore Your Beautiful Smile with Dental Crowns and Bridges
If you have damaged or missing teeth, you have no reason to worry. Our professional and accredited staff at Plymouth Dentistry has a number of restorative solutions to repair your smile, including high-quality dental crowns and bridges.
Crowns are protective caps that are placed over damaged teeth and bonded to them. As the new outer shell of your tooth, a crown will protect it from further damage and infection. At our office, we can provide crowns made out of many different materials. Depending on your preference, we can provide crowns that are ceramic and completely metal-free.
One of our most popular choices is our zirconium crowns. These are extremely durable, provide strong support to your natural tooth, and will be colored to blend in perfectly with your surrounding teeth. When you come to our office, Dr. Feucht can talk with you about the different options and help you determine which one is most appropriate.
Bridges are similar to crowns, but they are used to fill in a gap left by a missing tooth. To secure the bridge in your mouth, we place crowns on the two teeth surrounding the gap (known as abutment teeth), and these crowns attach to another crown that fills in the gap. If you have a series of teeth missing, we may need more than two abutment teeth to support the replacement crowns. Just like with our crowns, our bridges are custom made to fit perfectly in your mouth and can be naturally and realistically colored.
Convenient Procedures to Give You Back Your Wonderful Smile
Though these procedures may sound very complicated, they are actually very simple. First, we will take impressions of your teeth so that the lab can create a crown or bridge that will fit perfectly in your mouth next to your natural teeth. Then, we will remove sections of your tooth or abutment teeth so that the crown can fit on top of it.
Creating your custom zirconium crown or bridge will take a few weeks. In the meantime, we will place a temporary crown or bridge in your mouth in order to protect your tooth and fill the gap in your smile. Once your crown or bridge is ready, we will remove the temporary one and place your permanent crown or bridge. You’ll be stunned by how natural and comfortable your new teeth feel, and no one will be able to tell the difference.
